I just take my bikes seriously. Not myself. 2005 K1200S, K1200RS, R1200GS, R1150GS, R1100GS, K1100RS, CBR1100XX, CBF1000, DL650, TDM 900, FAZER 1000, FAZER 600, KLR 650, NX 250. All good to the last drop ...
I remember seen in web huge camerastand connected in bike behind driver and result looked like that as in that line splitting picture. It was in local site, but didn't find it now. Camera was much above head behind the driver.

I live in SoCal (Long Beach) and have been riding for 35 of my 42 years. I am a systems engineer by trade, a rider by leisure either on bikes or surfboards.
This is the first BMW I have owned. I currently own an '06 Speed Triple which is the most fun bike I have ever owned, but then again, I haven't opened up the K1200S as of yet. I have a feeling it will be the Dr. Jekyll to the S3s Mr. Hyde.

Hey all. Name is Walter. Just joined today. I currently ride an 06 VFR800. Very interested in picking up an 06 or 07 k1200s.
I sat on one in Fredericksburg, VA and fell in love. More comfortable than the VFR and all I can say about ESA is
I want to pick one up maybe in December or February. Only down thing is motorcycle insurance. Progressive wants like 2200 / year yet only 540/yr for the VFR .
Ive been riding since dec 06. Why is there such a huge difference? Like I really have to ask.
Hello- I'm George Chacko. I live in Bethesda, MD and I am more or less addicted to motorcycles. I am a veterinarian and a research biologist as far as formal training goes but I have a short attention span and change what I do every three or four years. I grew up in India where I started life off riding a two stroke Vespa and then begged and borrowed rides from my friends who owned Jawa 250s, Royal Enfield 350s, Yamaha RD 350s and the like. I came to the US in 1989 and bought my first serious bike in St Louis in 1999. The BMW dealership was just a short walk away from the lab I worked in and I went for a long walk one day and just drifted in. Two days later I had a '99 F650. I'm into precise technical riding, few things please me more than a perfectly executed corner. I'm also big on safe riding- I took the MSF instructor's course and dabbled in teaching at the Maryland MVA for a bit but gave up because I just didn't have the time. I also have some issues about whether the licensing standard is too low but the MSF courses at least give he newbies better tools than if they tried the roads themselves. My wife is not a big motorcycle enthusiast but very supportive of my interests so things work well. I bought a K1200R Sport yesterday.
David, live in Malibu but originally from Vermont. Screenwriter, prodcuer, about to start first directing gig (if all the unions don't strike at once this spring). Been riding about 30 years. When I was a kid picked up a new R60/5 at factory in Berlin, drove around Europe, east block, headed east from Turkey -- Syria, Jordan, Israel, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, India etc. and finally sold the machine in Perth. My new k1200r is my first BMW since.
My name is Chris from sunny Queensland, Australia. I've lusted after a K1200S for four years and have promised myself to have one next year when my wife and I move to Western Australia with new jobs.
I currently have a K1100RS thats a fixerupper and an R1200GS that's for sale.
Regrettably, I lost my license in December for six months - too many demerit points - and will be using my K11 to get around until the end of the year, and selling the R12GS in the meantime.
I've been lurking on the board for sometime now, thought I'd pop in now, as I've worked out my favourite 3 list!!!! (FWIW, W650, KTM990SM and K1200S)
Many thanks - only 20 weeks to go until I can ride again! It helps me focus so I can get a big bonus this year to help me get that K1200S!!!
I hope they release the 2009 models in the original "Porsche silver" again....
I just picked up a 2006 K1200R this past Sat. Its a blast to ride.....Its my first 4 cyclinder motorcycle and pretty much double the HP than my previous bikes so I'm taking it easy.
i have a great story. i had gotten bored with my 2007 R1200R and wanted to sell it. i put it on the craigs list in southern CA and the next day the first guy who saw it paid my asking price.
one week later a 2007 K1200R sport shows up on Craigs list for $13k or best offer. the good part is the bike only had 21 miles. the original owner bought it on Dec 22, 2007 and rode it home and that was the last time it saw asphalt.
i got the bike for about $5k less than he paid for it. He needed it gone and i needed it in my garage. DONE DEAL!
i have been riding DUC's and boxers for most of my motorcyle life and this is my first in-line 4.
OH MY NOW I KNOW WHAT "STUPID FAST" IS.
I must relearn throttle control or i will get hurt.
I love BMW technology and i am infacuated with this bike.
I'm leaving in Sept for a 5k mile ride to BC Canada and back with two friends and can't wait to tour on this bike.
BTW this is a great site.
