A weekend of Bernardo & "La Gorda" K13R

Postby Bernardo on Mon May 25, 2009 12:04 am

Hi Guys! :)

Recently arrived from a journey in "La Gorda", with a total of 1250 km.in 2 days. Now it has 5300 km.

I travel alone with a bag on the passenger seat, about 15 kg.

Everything in automatic. Mode ASC: Comfort

Let me tell you: the K13R is absolutely fantastic!

Choose from over cornering roads that are in provinces of Córdoba and San Luis , and can be summarized below, like a news flashes, without order...:

1) Turn and brake perfectly.
2) Accelerate unlimited and immediatelly, especially at medium speed in combined curves and short straight.
3) Quick Shift: From another planet, it makes me feel a pro racer. On cornering is absolutely incredible.
4) Speed: Average on straight 140 to 180 km / h. excellent acceleration and better braking at that speed, especially when there is a forward radar.
5) On dirt roads and sand, good performance, good stability. Very important to the ASC and ABS. (IMO ...)
6) Comfortable driving position, after 500 km. non-stop (fuel only). starts to annoy the seat a little hard.
7) where the oil is hot I can hear noise in the distribution chain (2800 to 3200 RPM), a little.
9) Vibrates a little, on aprox. 7000 RPM., no important.
10) People: Old, young, big, small, women, men, priests, politicians: Wooowwww!, What model is it?, Which is the final speed?, Can I take a picture?, Congratulations!, Of course, is a BMW...

Here are some photos from my trip, I hope you like.

Fantastic!

That altitude 3350m is higher, than is possible to get in Europe. In Spain is a road across Sierra Nevada, which goes about that high, but it's closed for public. Stunning!

Thanks :!:

All of you guys are invited to come here. I will make all the effort in order to you spends unforgettable days... :)

BTW... I have news that there were people of your country to organize a similar race to the Isle of Mann, in a hilly circuit here in Córdoba, with international level. I always ride when I go there, is beautiful. Surely there will be more news of this.

I hope some day we will meet personally.. :)

Ok Guys.

2 weeks ago I took 1 week vacation with the love of my life Judith (13 YO), but... by car. So, what's the relationship with La Gorda? I explain you:

BMW Financial service gave me a trip (perhaps for the loan: 39% anual interest :? ) , 2 persons, 5 days, five stars hotel...
http://www.loisuites.com.ar/

Place: Chapelco - San Martin de los andes: 2200 Km from Buenos Aires, 1700 Km from my home, paradisiac place, in The Cordillera de los Andes. Known as one of the most important international ski center

It's not much to do with motorcycles, but I thought it would be nice to share some photos of my Argentina with you guys :)

Hi saCUL :)

Nope, is an outstanding trip :? . 3000 Km far from Buenos Aires . Lovely place but I prefer to trip in my car or La Gorda, I'm not a lover of planes except for bussiness, of course..

Usuahia and Glaciar Perito Moreno attracts the attention of international tourism. Is incredible to see many tons of Ice falls when the glacier is broken...

Here you can view images from Usuahia - Tierra del Fuego...

Missed this thread orignally. Great pictures and fantastic scenery. There is a petit St Bernard pass between France and Italy with a ski resort - LaRosiere where you can ski across the border. Pictures of the dogs are obligatory there too, I will see if I can dig some out

Last month I made an inquiry to rent large bikes (no Harleys Jamie...). It is possible through dealers. Even I spoke to my BMW salesman about the company to sponsor a tour, I replied that it was possible, only have to be organized. I think there are several people who may be interested .... only we have to push a little, don't you think?

Hi guys :)

The past weekend was an event related to big motorcycles in Carlos Paz in the tourist area of Cordoba, OCT 10, 11 and 12 (public holiday here) and I wish to share some good times I spent with some pics...

The hotel where the event took place, to the side, was the campus of the exhibition.

Wonderful pictures Bernardo. Reminds me of my own too short visits to Argentina. Truely a magical country with wonderful (and stunningly beautiful) people and scenery. Thank you for sharing. If there's ever an organised trip on bikes to join in Argentina then I'm certainly up for it.
